Synopsis

In the early 1980's, Xiao Yun, a 16-year-old girl living in rural China, discovers she is pregnant, triggering the town's disownment of her family. Ten years after being forced to give her child up for adoption, Xiao Yong's delicate position within her community is tested once again when her closest companion proposes marriage.
