
Chinese film "Black Coal , Thin Ice" directed by Diao Yinan won the Golden Bear for Best Film at the 2014 Berlin International Film Festival .

Starring Liao Fan, Kwai Lun-mei and Wang Xuebing, the crime-romance film follows a former police officer who falls in love with a mysterious woman while investigating a series of mysterious murders, only to find that it is not always possible to separate guilt from innocence.
This is the fourth Chinese movie to win Golden Bear after Zhang Yimou's "Red Sorghum" (1988) , Xiefei's "Women From The Lake Of Scented Souls (1993) and Wang Quanan's "Tuya's Marriage" (2007).
Liao Fan became the first Chinese actor who clinched the Silver Bear for Best Actor. Meanwhile , The Best Actress Silver Bear went to Japanese actress Haru Kuroki in "The Little House" .
