Synopsis

Returning to the glamorous and turbulent setting of 1930s Shanghai, Zuo Zhen (Huang Xiaoming) , a powerful and unflappable mob boss who doesn't let anyone get too close. His life begins to change, however, when he meets innocent country girl Rong Jinxiu (Joe Chen) who is in love with Zuo Zhen's good friend Xiang Yingdong (Kimi Qiao). Zuo Zhen teaches Jinxiu how to dance, how to drink and the ways of society so that she can be by Ying Dong's side, but in the process, he falls for her instead.
